I agree with this. I do think the story would have been better served with more common-born PoVs and fewer high-born Cat Ginger Catatonic Vintage Shirt. We certainly get enough PoVs through-out the story to make it feel odd. If, for instance, instead of AFFC and ADWD expanding to include Victarion, Aeron, Asha, Arianne, Quentyn, briefly Arys Oakheart, they had given us a PoV for Gendry or Hotpie or Sandor Clegane, that would have been valuable. Perhaps, especially, Sandor Clegane, we follow him since GoT and he is a broken man who matches some of the downward trajectory we see in ASoS. However, he’s not necessarily common-born, but he’s the closest we get to seeing the spiral of oppression, war, and fighting through Arya’s eyes. I do think what we get is more than superficial, but I also agree it’s not nearly as deep as it could be or as I would prefer.
